Reduced carbon dioxide emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and associated actions to conserve and enhance forest carbon stocks, collectively referred to as REDD+, offers an important new approach to both climate change mitigation and the financing of sustainable rural development in Asian and Pacific forested countries. This report assesses the progress and challenges associated with national REDD+ strategies and their implementation across the Asia and the Pacific.
