Being part of indigenous communities, indigenous women share the same conditions as those of the men: they suffer from loss of land and resources due to dispossession and encroachment, from racial discrimination, cultural alienation and pressure to assimilate, and from violations of their human rights, often exacerbated by the violent conflicts engulfing their communities.
