There are many identified opportunities for conservation in this area including tourism, hydropower and watershed management. REDD+ scheme also introduced as a tool to solicit overseas development assistance, carbon trading to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in the greater Cardamom mountains for the shake of sustainable development in Cambodia.
