There is an immense nation-building challenge facing the leadership in Myanmar. The author finds that in many cases Myanmar is far behind nations such as Bangladesh and Cambodia, much less Indonesia or Vietnam. The comparative data is followed by analysis and a summary of strategic choices facing Myanmar.
