Improving forest governance in the Mekong region

This report identifies opportunities for regional activities to improve forest governance and combat logging in the Mekong countries. The report is based on a series of workshops and analyses in 2009 and 2010, as well as interviews with experts in national and regional programs in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. The first section provides an overview on governance in the forest sector and existing initiatives to combat illegal logging and associated trade. The second section outlines recommendations for regional and country-level activities to improve forest governance in the Mekong region.
