This submission is intended to inform the Intergovernmental Working Group (IGWG) in its discussion about transnational corporations and other business enterprises with respect to human rights. It makes recommendations in relation to the process before, during and after the first session of the IGWG from the perspective of human rights defenders, and sets out basic considerations as to the discussions on content and scope of a future treaty foreseen for the first session of the IGWG.
