Constitution of Lao People's Democratic Republic's (Amended 2015)

The 2015 Constitution (Amended) was published in the Official Gazette (open access) on 4 February 2016. It is currently available in the Lao language only. The 2015 Constitution: has 14 chapters and 119 articles, three chapters and 21 articles more than the 2003 version. Implies greater commitment to the rule of law by, for example: allowing the establishment of provincial assemblies (PAs) for the first time, which are set to function as local parliaments; stipulating, for the first time, that the president can hold office for not more than two consecutive terms.
