The Global Surface Water dataset from Joint Research Centre has a complete history of water detections over the 37-year period from 1984 to 2020 produced under the Copernicus Programme and free of charge. All datasets comprise the Global Surface Water 1984-2020, being made freely available in the various mechanisms such as Global Surface Water Explorer, Data Download, Google Earth Engine, and Web Map Services. Moreover, the water history datasets and their metadata will be made available in the near future within their website. The dataset available to download is in 2020. The following mapped dataset in 2020 classifies into 6 categories, including occurrence, occurrence change intensity, seasonality, recurrence, transitions, and maximum water extent. Last but not least, a noticeable feature of a full historical Global Water Surface datasets can be derived by using python 2 and 3 scripts in https://global-surface-water.appspot.com/download or an alternative platform with Google Earth Engine Platform.
