Climate Change and Its Impact on the Lao and Cambodian People

As climate change intensifies, so do the threats to the environment and ecosystems because they are affected by variations in the weather such as temperature, rainfall and river flow. In recent years these have led to widespread flooding and drought, especially in the Mekong Basin countries. Among the lower Mekong Basin countries, Laos and Cambodia have been identified as the most vulnerable, in part because of their limited capacity to cope with climate related risks.
