Description

This arbitral award is issued by the Arbitrator Council on the issue between Tien Sung Garment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.(employer) and the ​Workers' representatives in resolving collective labor disputes of Tien Sung Garment (employee). According to the award, 9 points are demanded by the employee side and are yet to be resolved including 1) demand the company stop interfering in the union’s work by allowing union leaders to conduct union tasks during their lunch break, on the premises of the factory; 2) demand the company to stop deducting workers’ annual leave; 3) demand the company to pay salary twice per month on 20th and 5th; 4) demand the company to remove chairs when workers are queuing to go home; 5) demand the company to stop setting too many targets; 6) demand the company to allows female workers to breastfeed babies 18 months after birth; 7) demand the company to increases the food allowance to 6000 KHR; 8) demand the company adds a $10 attendance reward; 9) demand the company to stops collecting workers’ ID cards. The outcome of the arbitral award was that the first, third, fourth, and fifth issues were refused by the arbitrator. The second, seventh, eighth, and ninth issues were withdrawn. The sixth issue was successfully resolved. This was a non-binding award.
