On March 16, 2020, there were 12 cases of positive COVID-19: two in Banteay Meanchey, two in Phnom Penh, two in Kampong Chhnang, four in Battambang, one in Tbong Khmum and one in Kampot, a 30 year old Cambodian Muslim. He was sent to a Kep hospital as he was a translator to Malaysian and works in Kep.
